Deb Whitworth

President

Deb is Managing Director of Human Resources Consulting at Lebel & Harriman, LLP, an independent insurance and investment brokerage firm, located in Falmouth, Maine. As managing director for Lebel & Harriman’s newest division, she brings over 25 years of human resources management experience with her as she consults with for-profit and nonprofit organizations. Deb’s areas of expertise include compliance and conducting comprehensive human resources audits, mandatory training, management training, coaching, counseling, performance management and improvement, conducting 360degree performance evaluations, team building, compensation, conducting employee satisfaction surveys, conducting internal investigations, and recruitment.

Deb's first book, You're Hired, You're Fired—A Manager's Guide to Employee Supervision, was published in 2004. She is a regular contributor of human resources related articles to HR Times and has written for Maine Biz, Portland Press Herald, Employment Times,and Information Technology.

Prior to joining Lebel & Harriman, LLP in 2008, Deb owned her own consulting firm, HR Studio, and for nine years held the position of Vice President of Human Resources for The Waldron Group of Companies. She is married and lives in Portland with her husband, David, and cats Sophie and Oliver. Deb has two grown children—Erin, who is married to Nate and is living in Portland, and Brad, who is a senior at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in NY majoring in Information Technology.
