History

Connections For Kids was founded in 1996 by a former foster parent. She saw a great need for short-term residential placements for children in the custody of the Department of Health and Human Services. The goal was to limit the number of placements a child would have to make before they found the right match.

Originally called Foster Family Connection, the agency has grown from a single residential program to a complete mental health agency providing a continuum of care to families as well as children.

Our program focuses on observing behaviors and providing children with necessary skills-based therapy to help them successfully transition to a more permanent place.

It is our responsibility to provide our children with a good start in life. Sometimes parents need help to develop their own parenting skills. And sometimes a neutral third party must intervene to make the equation work. That's where CFK comes in. We provide a bridge from one living situation to another. CFK gives children a place to feel safe and nurtured during the time of transition.
